Rainbow Day Care operated as a group family center, caring for 20 children at the time of opening in April of 1991 until the fall of 1994, when Rainbow upgraded to the status of Day Care Center which allowed an increase of licensing capacity to 36 children.  Rainbow operations continued in this status until 1998 when we secured USDA sponsored funding to build a new daycare facility.  Building began in the spring of 1999 and the Rainbow operation moved to the new building on October 30, 1999.  We currently occupy this facility licensed for 36 children.

This 2,300 Sq. Ft. facility meets the requirements of ADA and South Dakota Child Care Licensing.  Management and Staff continue to meet the Licensing requirements on an annual basis to secure the “Center” License as well as the CACFP requirements in order to continue our participation with this USDA Nutrition Program.  Each entity requires an annual application/approval, accompanied by random inspections.

The vision for continued growth and expansion within the Rainbow operation will continue through the governing Board of Directors.
